John Orville Holland, 71, of Hamlin, Texas, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. John was born on June 7, 1949, to parents Juanita Walterine (Headrick) and Prentice George Holland.  John graduated from Hamlin High School in 1968.  Soon after that he joined the United States Navy where he served for two years including the Vietnam War.  While in the Navy, he received a letter of commendation.

After being discharged from the Navy, he returned to his hometown of Hamlin.  In 1980, he married his sweetheart, Nancy Wall.  They loved spending time checking cows together, and even after Nancy retired, they worked together every day.  Where you would find one, you would find the other.  John loved watching his boys play sports and show cattle.  He adored all his grandkids and great grandkids.  His pride was his family.

Preceding him in death are his parents; his brother, Merlyn Darrell Holland, and his sister, Pearce Josephine (Holland) Manning.

Those that will cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years, Nancy Holland; sons, Prentice and wife Kristi of Irving, Texas; Justin and wife Michelle of Hamlin; grandchildren, Trey and wife Alyssa, Bailey and wife Gabby, Zane, Haley and husband Gage, Hanna and Hagan Holland; great grandchildren Braileigh, Kynsleigh, Ezekiel, Jackson, Gloria Jean and Avery; several brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews that he loved very dearly.
