In 1968 they welcomed their first child Sondra, Followed by James in 1971, and Elizabeth in 1974. Janie and Bobby went on to raise their children in Hamlin. Raising her family was Janie’s greatest joy in life. She loved her family, and her constant dedication and sacrifice will forever be remembered and appreciated and cherished by her adoring family. Sondra, James and Elizabeth were truly shown what true love was by the example their parents proved by example every day of their lives.

She loved cooking, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She was very crafty and would always prepare and share food with others. Janie believed in fellowship and full stomachs, and didn’t mind overfilling anyone who wanted to stop in.
