Betty Wallace

December 28, 1929 — June 7, 2022

Betty was born December 28, 1929 to James T (Pat) Miller and Pearl Conner Miller along with twin brother Bobby Joe Miller who died on December 30, 1929.  She was a 1947 graduate of Hamlin High School and married V.M. (Dickie) Wallace on April 14, 1950.  After her children were older, she worked thirteen years for Celotex Corp. until the plant closed and another seventeen years for TCI Cablevision.  She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Hamlin teaching third grade Sunday School for many years and later being an active member of the Friends Sunday School class.  She was involved with the First Baptist Church Funeral Meal Committee, secretary/treasurer for the Hamlin Lions Club, Hamlin Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, Woman's Literary Club, as well as a director of the Hamlin Cemetery Association.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Dickie Wallace; and two brothers, Bobby Joe Miller, and Jack Miller

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Pittman-Nolan (William) of Crowley, Texas; one son, Richard Wallace (Daralyn) of College Station, Texas; three grandchildren, Aaron (Tami) Wallace of Justin, Texas, Drew (Alyssa) Pittman of Waco, Texas, and Morgan (Jeff) Steubing of College Station, Texas; and ten great-grandchildren: Kyllan, Malcolm, Oleg, Archer, Ellis, Theodore, Kimberly, Alaric, Kyra and Jace.
