Barbara Brown

June 21, 1945 — June 30, 2021

Hamlin

Barbara Tabb Ford Brown was born June 21,1945 in Abilene to WH "Willie" and Opal Early Tabb and went home on   June 30,2021 surrounded by friends and family.  Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday,   July 3, 2021, at the Hamlin Church of Christ.  Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Neinda Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.

She graduated high school a proud McCaulley Eagle and went to business school in Odessa.  After graduation, she worked for several professional offices before meeting Ellis Ford.  They were a perfect match and married in 1967.

They completed their family through the adoption of their daughter, Brandi.  Barbara was a homemaker and momma for 15 years, before going to work for Jones County as a Deputy Tax-Accessor Collector.  She took great pride in her work and serving those who walked through the doors.  She made lifelong friends in the many years she worked in Stamford, Hamlin, and Anson.

Her greatest joy came when her grandson, Trenon, was born in 2003.  He was the light of her and Ellis' life.

Ellis was in poor health the last several years of his life, but she was his faithful caregiver.  He gained his eternal reward June 12, 2004.  She missed him dearly but lavished all of her time on Trenon.

A few years later, Tommy Brown came into her life.  Brandi and Trenon weren't sure they wanted to share their Gran, but soon realized Tommy was what their family needed.  They just hadn't known it.  They married in 2009 and Barbara gained a son, Chris.

She and Tom were best friends and enjoyed weekend trips and attending all of Trenon's sporting adventures.

Tom gained his wings in 2019 and Barbara mourned his loss daily.  He left a void no one else could fill.

Barbara still enjoyed watching Trenon's sporting events that were live streamed and was even able to watch his graduation, in May, from her hospital room.

She was a member of the Hamlin Church of Christ.  When she was unable to attend services, she still made it a priority to worship the Lord and honor the first day of the week in an at home service led by her grandson -- something very special to her.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, two loving husbands, a sister, Lorene Riddle and a brother, Gerald Tabb.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Travis Pritchard; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jalyn Brown; grandson Trenon Pritchard;  brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Joyce Tabb; sisters-in-law Brenda Bristow, Mary Ford, Margie Bruner, Judy Brown, and brother-in-law Edsel Ford, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hamlin Boys Club, an organization she truly admired, or one's favorite charity.
