Alfredo Ybarra

November 6, 1948 — June 29, 2021

Hamlin

Our beloved brother and uncle, Alfredo M Ybarra, 73, was called home by our Lord on June 29, 2021.

Alfredo was born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas Mexico on a Sunday to Evaristo Ibarra and Maria Medrano. He was preceded in death by his parents;  his sisters, Andrea, Josefa and Ramona;  and  brothers, Jose and Manuel.

As a young man he moved to Hamlin to live with his sister Josefa “Chepita”  Villarreal. He lived with her and her family until his brother Roberto and Eva moved to Hamlin in 1977.  He worked as a farm hand for many years around the Hamlin area until his stroke in 1986 that left him paralyzed.  At that time, Roberto and Eva became his caregivers and although he never married or had any children, he helped raise the kids.

Despite him being disabled, he continued to stay active in his early years by doing the same ole, same ole. He taught his sister in- law Eva, how to drive a car  to prepare her for all his future doctor appointments. He was a story teller and liked to joke around. He loved all his siblings and their families. He was proud to be Uncle and always helped out. He was later baptized at Primera Mission Bautista by Brother Retta in the early 1990’s and continued to worship the Lord until he was called home.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers Roberto(Eva) Ibarra and Lazaro(Dominga) Ibarra,  his nephew Benny(Mindy)Ybarra and nieces Mariela(Ramiro)Flores, Elizabeth(Ringo)Amador and Naomi(Jose)Hernandez and other numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and 2 great nieces that he loved dearly.

Pallbearers include Raul Rivera III, Ringo Amador Jr, Robert T Ybarra, Benny Ybarra Jr, Jose Alfredo Hernandez Jr, Raymond Rivera, Rudy Amador with honorary pallbearer Benny Ybarra.

Special thanks to Reverend Paul Matta, Hendricks Hospice Care, Dr Chad White & Dr Anwar for the many years of care they gave our uncle.
