Velta Kiser

Velta L. Kiser passed from this life on November 3, 2022 in Abilene, Texas.  Visitation will be at the United Methodist Church, Hamlin, Texas, on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service.  The funeral service will begin at 3:00 P.M.  Burial will be at the Neinda Cemetery.

Velta was born to Claude Ester Hastings and Dorothy Hastings on November 21, 1943, in McCamey, Texas.      Velta married James R Kiser (Bobby) on August 24, 1962, at the homeplace.

Velta loved to sew and made all her kid’s clothes.  She was a professional grandmother (MeMe) and attended all their events.  She loved doing bible studies, working in her garden and especially loved her roses.

Velta was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Hamlin, Texas.   She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Tricia Kiser Byerly.

Survivors include her husband, James R Kiser (Bobby), children, James R Kiser II (Robby) and wife Heather of Hamlin; Melissa Lee  and husband Bobby of Midlothian, Texas; brother, Steve Hastings of Abilene, Texas; and sister, Kay Hulse of Whitehouse, Texas; son-in-law, David Byerly; six grandchildren, Megan Hays, Sarah Moore, Brandon Lee, Jacob Byerly, Will Kiser, and Weston Kiser; eight great-grandchildren.
