With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tomas Franco Sr., who departed this life peacefully at his home on August 2, 2026, in Hamlin, Texas. At the age of 81,Born on December 21, 1944, Tomas lived a life marked by warmth, generosity, and devotion to family. Tomas was a man whose life was filled with meaningful work, joyful pursuits, and above all, deep love for those around him. A dedicated worker, he was employed at the Moore elevators in 1973 and Pied Piper Pet Food until his retirement in 2007,forging not only a career but also lasting friendships and a reputation for commitment and reliability. One of Tomas’s greatest joys was barbequing. He found happiness in gathering friends and family together, sharing meals bursting with flavor and laughter alike. His passion extended beyond delicious food—Tomas loved fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys play; watching Canelo’s fights, and watching the Texas Rangers . He was an avid baseball player, his talents took him from the fields of Mexico to the diamonds in Jones county where he created cherished memories with fellow players and loyal fans. Tomas’s generosity knew no bounds. Widely known as someone always willing to lend a hand, he lived by the principle of helping anyone at any time. These simple but profound acts of kindness enriched the lives of those lucky enough to know him. Tomas loved his family fiercely, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren,never missing an opportunity to show support, affection, and care. On August 23, 1970, Tomas married Maria Guadalupe Garcia, the love of his life. Their union was a testimony to devotion and partnership, forming the foundation of a loving family. Tomas leaves behind a legacy carried on by his surviving loved ones: His loving wife, of 55 years Maria Guadalupe Franco, and 1 sister, Maria DeLos Angeles Franco Munoz of Teague, Texas.his children, Tomas Franco Jr. (Nichole), Alma Lozano (Steve),Mario Alberto Franco (Amanda),Araceli Urvina(Pete Jr.). and Though he will be deeply missed, the values he instilled and the countless memories he created will live on in their hearts and the hearts of all who knew him. Tomas is also survived by his grandchildren, Steve Lozano Jr, Michael Lozano, Christopher Lozano, Joel Lozano, Marissa Lozano, Andrew Franco, Jonathon Franco, Brittany Franco, John Franco, Calie Urvina, Pete Urvina III, Leilani Urvina. 15 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is preceded in death by his beloved father, Florentino Franco, and his mother, Juanita Rodriquez Franco. His nephew Hector Franco; One sister and seven brothers. Rosary will be held on August 9, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home, 505 NW 5th St, Hamlin, TX. A Funeral Service will be held on August 10, 2026, at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1250 N Central Ave, Hamlin, TX, with burial to follow at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, 11639 County Rd 111, Hamlin, TX. Tomas Franco’s memory will be deeply cherished by all who loved him. His life was a blessing, and his legacy endures in the love and kindness he gave so freely.
