THERESA JOYCE "TERRY" HERNANDEZ, 56, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016, in Hamlin. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home Chapel in Hamlin.
Born January 5, 1960, Terry was the daughter of Charles James and Joyce (Mitchell) Mateljan. She married the love of her life, Lorenzo Hernandez, on August 1, 1980, in Anson. A homemaker, Terry was a talented cook who extended her love beyond her own family, taking in several children and stray dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Joyce Mateljan; two brothers, Charles Mateljan, Jr., and Charles James Mateljan; one niece, Samantha Hall; and one great-nephew.
Terry is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Lorenzo Hernandez; one son, Lorenzo Hernandez, Jr., of North Dakota; one daughter, Gloria Carver and husband, Kyle, of Hamlin; four sisters, Juanita Lynn Garcia and husband, Jerry, Mary Ann Hall and husband, Bucky, Sue Ann Gauna and husband, Joey, and Tina Ledesma and husband, P.J.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
