Shirley Elaine Burns, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born on March 22, 1969, in Stamford, Texas to William Booty and Rosie Blount. She departed this life on June 20, 2025, in Abilene, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
A devout professional, Shirley dedicated her career to Work Force Solutions, where she made a significant impact on countless lives. Her passion for helping others was matched only by her commitment to her family, which was the cornerstone of her existence. Shirley was a proud mother to her four children, Ross Johnson-Burns, Kyle Chaney, Chantylle Polston , spouse Brendon; and Lindsey Sanders, spouse Roger. She celebrated each of their achievements and milestones, showing an undying love that was felt deeply by all.
As a grandmother, Shirley found immense joy in her seven grandchildren and many adoptive grandchildren. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, warmth, and her radiant spirit, as she created countless memories that will be treasured forever. Her kindness and love extended beyond her immediate family, embracing her beloved friends, Sandra Deaton, Deserrie Baucum, her nieces Taylisa Cork, Carol Gindratt and Uncle Trey Gattis, who stood by her side through thick and thin.
Shirley was also the loving sister to Kenneth Johnson and Leonard (Ester) Johnson. The bonds she shared with her siblings were rooted in mutual respect and affection, and her nurturing qualities undoubtedly mirrored her upbringing.In pursuit of knowledge, Shirley earned her Associate Degree at Abilene Christian University, an achievement that she held close to her heart and one that exemplified her belief in the value of education.Shirley Elaine Burns will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of her family and friends.
