Rosie Lee Johnson

Rosie Lee Johnson, 90, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in Abilene, Texas. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hamlin, Texas. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray funeral Home.

Born August 6, 1928 in Carthage, Texas. She later moved to Hamlin, Texas where she raised her family and resided over 40 years. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, serving as an usher and board member for many years before relocating to Abilene, Texas.  She enjoyed her daily soap operas, bingo and routine conversations with close friends (Janie Cork and Burnett Chase).

Rosie is proceeded in death by her parents Coy Blount and Beatrice Turner; two sons, C. W. Sample and Willie Joe Johnson, one daughter, Sara B Johnson.

She is survived by two sons Leonard Johnson and wife Ester, of Abilene, Texas, Kenneth Johnson of Gatesville, Texas, and one daughter, Shirley Burns of Abilene, Texas. Blessed with a large circle of love from many grand, great grand, great great grandchildren and many close friends.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Adams-Foster-Ray funeral home in Hamlin, Texas.
