Ronnie Shoemaker

Ronnie Kyle Shoemaker, 71, of Hamlin, passed away May 19, 2018.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Hamlin.  Burial will follow in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.

Ronnie was born on October 19, 1946 in Roscoe, Texas.

Ronnie was the son of Gladys (Daniel) and Clyde Shoemaker. He married the love of his life, Irene (Murray) on August 16, 1972, on the Island of Borneo, in the country of Brunei. After leaving Borneo, the couple lived in Singapore before moving to America where they resided in Abilene and then Neinda. The couple moved their family to Hamlin in 1983. Ronnie was a business owner and farmer while helping to raise their five children. He and Irene had the opportunity to travel the world, visiting over 130 countries. In his spare time, he enjoyed coffee with his friends, telling funny stories, and fishing. However, the highlight of his life was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and three sisters, Mary Moore, Charlotte Bradford, and Betty Steele.

Ronnie is survived by three sons, Matthew Shoemaker and wife Jenny of Stamford, Mark Shoemaker and wife Ashley of Hamlin, and Luke Shoemaker and wife Misti of Hamlin; two daughters, Miranda Ziccardi and husband Tony of Austin, and Melinda Guy and husband Zane of Highland Village; two sisters, Lona Mae Johnson and Clydine Lassiter; one brother, Johnny Shoemaker; and twelve grandchildren, Logan, Tyler, Lucas, Cameron, Caroline, London, Allie, Cooper, Greyson, Quinn, Brady, and Kylee.
