Ronald Combs

Ronald William Combs (Popo) died July 13, 2022, at 2:35 P.M.  at Wilbarger General Hospital in Vernon, Texas.  He was the son of Robert E. Combs and Luella Mae Stonehill Combs of Ohio.  Ronnie was Born October 10, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio.   He graduated in 1953 from San Angelo, Texas.   He was married to Ellen Joy Thomas, “Josie” to him, on March 30, 1956, in San Angelo, Texas.  She was the love of his life, as he is to her.  He worked for Amerada Petroleum Company, General Tire, Sears Roebuck, and West Texas Utilities from 1961-1992. Ronnie Loved antiques.  He and Joyce spent many years traveling and collecting old cars.   He attended the Hamlin Church of Christ where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Robert Mark Combs, and wife Lori; two granddaughters, Alicia Beck of Magnolia, Texas; Gay Lynn Gary of Vernon, Texas; one grandson Brady Combs of Odessa, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Chris Combs of Irving, Texas

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
