Rogelio Guerra, Sr.

Hamlin-Rogelio "Roy" Guerra, Sr., 73, passed away January 27, 2017, in Hamlin. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home. Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.

Born September 25, 1943, in Santa Rosa, TX, Roy was the son of the late Adolfo and Simona (Garcia) Guerra. He married Petra Ruiz May 7, 1962, in Edinburg. Roy worked as a foreman at the Radium Gin and as a farmer. He loved entertaining friends, Barbequing, singing and going fishing. Roy was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother (George Guerra) and one brother-in-law (Raul Hernandez).

Survivors included three sons, Rogelio "Roy" Guerra, Jr. (Belinda), Richard "Ricky" Guerra and Randy Guerra (Katja); one daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" (Guerra) Johnson; two brothers, Adolfo Guerra Jr. (Rachel) and Rene Guerra (Beverly; seven sisters, Delfina Moreno, Odelia Hernandez, Alvia Nelms (Randy), Olga Acosta (Joe), Aida Mendoza (Jerry), Iris Montanez (Manuel), and Diane "Nana" Guerra; seventeen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
