HAMLIN REBECCA ANN BECKY PETTY BROWN, 64, passed away Thursday September 12, 2013, at an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday September 16, 2013, at FountainGate Fellowship 909 North Willis, Abilene, Texas 79603 with burial in the family cemetery on the Harp Ranch in Nolan County. AdamsFosterRay Funeral Home and McCoy Funeral Home will be conducting the services. ation will be 5:00 6:30 p.m. Sunday at AdamsFosterRay Funeral Home in Hamlin. Becky was born April 18, 1949, in Rotan to E.A. Punk and Johnnie Snook Ward Petty. She graduated from Rotan High School and then Angelo State University, where she received her bachelors of education. Becky married Randy Brown on May 29, 1971, in Rotan and they moved to Hamlin where she taught until retiring in 2007. After retiring, they moved to their ranch near Maryneal. Becky was a vibrant person who enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, but she especially loved visiting with people. If she ever met a stranger, they were ly converted over to a friend. Becky was also very active in XI Gamma Pi, Sorosis Sorority, Teachers Sorority, and the Sweetwater Book Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Judy Petty, brother Leo Petty, and infant daughter Sheila Ann Brown.

Becky will be laid to rest in a stain glass casket that was designed and hand made by her longtime friend and class mate Chris McCasland.

Becky is survived by her husband, Randy Brown of Maryneal, Texas daughter and soninlaw, Holly and Rick Collins of Hamlin brother and sisterinlaw, Phil and Karen Petty of Abilene sisterinlaw, Gwen Rowland of Hamlin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
