Petra Guerra

HAMLIN PETRA GUERRA, 74, was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her resident. She had battled against Parkinson39s Disease.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday May 4, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, ed by AdamsFosterRay Funeral Home. Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the funeral home.

Petra was born on November 24, 1937, in O39Donell, TX to Jose Ruiz and Felipa Fuentes. She married Rogelio Roy Guerra in Edinburg May 7, 1962 which they would of celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and moved to Hamlin that same year. Roy and Petra Guerra continued to live in Hamlin while they raised their four children.

Petra was a wonderful housewife and caregiver.

Our mother enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, camping, fishing, sewing, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Petra enjoyed cooking for anyone who came and visited her home. quotOhquot she was also a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan

Mother made her home very welcoming for everyone, our home was the place for family cookouts and for children to run around. We all loved the weekends that we spent at the quotGuerra Ranchquot.

Petra is preceded in death by her father Jose Ruiz, mother Felipa Fuentes, brothers Pilar, Andres, and Juan, sisters Fina and Lola.

Survivors include her husband, Rogelio quotRoyquot Guerra of Hamlin three sons, Roy Guerra, Jr. and wife, Belinda of Edinburg, Ricky Guerra of Amarillo, and Randy Guerra Audra Arendall of Hamlin Cynthia quotCindyquot Guerra Johnson Jimmy Moreno, Jr. of Abilene brothers Abraham Ruiz and Roberto Ruiz sister, Auroa Mercado fourteen grandchildren three greatgrandchildren and two on the way.
