Oram Weaver

Oram Houston "O.H." Weaver, Jr, of Hamlin, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 4, 2016,at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m.on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Hamlin, with burial following at the Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.
O.H. was born on November 14, 1944, to O.H. "Ogie" Weaver, Sr., and Fayrene Weaver. He grew up in Neinda, Texas and graduated from Hamlin High School in 1963. On June 28, 1970, he married the love of his life, Marolyn Reynolds, and they spent the next 46 years together in Hamlin. In 1981, he and Marolyn welcomed their son John Reynolds into their lives. O.H. was a deacon of First Baptist Church of Hamlin, a member of the Lions Club, served on the School Board, the Hospital Board, was the President of the Little League association for 6 years, and served on the Hamlin High School Ex Student's Association. He worked at Hamlin National Bank for 50 years, retiring on November 13, 2015.He was a board member of the Neinda Cemetery Association, where his father served as caretaker for a number of years, president of the Hamlin United Way Fund, and served as an ambassador of the Salvation Army in his community. He was honored as the Man of the Year for his community of Hamlin in 1981.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marolyn, of Hamlin; his son, John Reynolds of Hamlin; sister-in-law Carolyn Batchelor and her husband, Patrick, of Corsicana; niece, Kelly Brown and husband, Seth, of Corsicana; nephew, Casey Batchelor and wife, Tiffany, of Corpus Christi; and great nieces and nephews Lillian, Cade, George, Ryan, and Brooke.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hamlin and/or Neinda Cemetery Association. He is honored to have made numerous friends and "extended family members" throughout his life, and both he and the family are grateful to all of you for your support during his hospital stay.
