HAMLIN NORMA JEAN ERVINE WILLIAMS, 73, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012, in Dallas. Funeral service were 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the First Baptist Church with burial in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. ation was 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at AdamsFosterRay Funeral Home.

Norma Jack Williams began this life journey on January 3, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Jodie Ervine and Katherine Sparks. She moved to Hamlin, Texas at an early age. She started her education at Oscar De Priest in Hamlin, Texas. She later got her GED. She received Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age at Oak Grove Baptist Church. She worked faithful as an Usher until her death. Norma worked at Abilene State School and Skyview Living Center.

She met and married the late Willie James Hooper, Sr. and to this union ten children were born. Later she married the late Sammy Williams.

Norma loved spending time with her family and friends, baking for the family, watching movies, wearing her hats, shopping, and playing her games. The joy of her life was going to church and serving the Lord.

Norma is preceded in death by her husband Sammy Williams, son Willie Hooper, Jr., daughter Sandra Hooper, parents Jodie Ervine and Katherine Sparks, and a brother Joe Samuel.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Rev. Jesse Hooper of Abilene seven daughters and six sonsinlaw, Kathy and Oscar Marshall of Midland, Barbara and William Brown of Hamlin, Elizabeth and Paul Pressey of Cleveland, Ohio, Elisa and Rick Baldwin of Dallas, Jacqueline and Edward Gardner of Bossier City, Louisiana, Charlotte and Jeffery Duffey of Mansfield and Vera Hooper of Dallas six stepchildren twentyfive grandchildren thirtyone greatgrandchildren one greatgreatgrandchild two sisters, Mary Jo of Plainview and Alice Ervine of Dallas four brothers, John Ervine Jack of Plainview, Arthur Van Zandt of Dallas, Ike Van Zandt Gina of Hamlin, and James Ervine Renea of Abilene one aunt, Neva Thomas Ira Joe and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Hooper family and friends.
