Mildred Self

McCaulley- Mildred Estelle Self, 97, passed away May 3, 2019 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday May 7, 2019, at the McCaulley Methodist Church. Burial will be in the McCaulley Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday May 6, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.
Born February 2, 1922, in Fisher County, Estelle was the daughter of the late John Edward and Pearl Mae (Alexander) Gibson. She married J.P. Self at the McCaulley Parsonage in 1942. She gave her heart to Jesus in 1947 and continued the rest of her life serving Jesus first and then loving her beloved family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, tending to her rose garden and flowers and always an avid sports fan. She blessed each member of her family with a special birthday song on each one's birthday.
She is preceded in death by her husband, and two children, Bobby Lee and James Wylie, also,seven sisters, and two brothers.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Gloria Self; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Greg Rains; one daughter-in-law, Betty Self; five grandchildren, Judy Tidwell, Amy Mann, Todd Self, Brandon Rains, and Jennifer Larsen; and nine great-grandchildren.
