Born December 25, 1937 in Panhandle, Texas, Patsy was a daughter of Clifford and Irene Smart Mitchell. She graduated from Anson High School in 1955. Patsy married James Branch on December 31, 1955 in Hamlin. Patsy worked for the Texas Department of Corrections in Abilene for ten years before retiring. She had lived in Hamlin since 1977 and prior to that, eleven years in Aspermont. Patsy loved to visit with people and never met a stranger. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamlin. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Cliffie and John Mitchell, one daughter Jamie Branch, one son Scott Branch, one greatgrandaughter Emalea Swofford, and one brotherinlaw Donald Bockman.


Patsy is survived by her husband, James Branch of Hamlin a daughter and soninlaw, Starla and Luciano Chavez of Guthrie, Texas two sisters and a brotherinlaw, Joyce and Charles May of Abilene and Martha Bockman of Abilene six grandchildren and their spouses, Scotty Sarah Branch, Ryan Guerra, Kelli John David Swafford, Patricia Atlee Rainey, Niki Branch and Alyssa Mitchell seven greatgrandchildren numerous brothersinlaw, sistersinlaw, nieces and nephews and very special friends, Bobby and Bethene Wade.
