Maggie was born February 13, 1923, in Pampa, Texas to W.D. and Oneta Duncan Batteas. She married R.C. Bud Waldon in May of 1940. They moved to Hamlin from Roby in 1953 where she and Bud owned a boot repair store. Bud passed away and later Maggie married Sterling S.C. Fudge in May of 1960. While she and Sterling were married they lived in Jayton and managed the golf course, where she ly grew to love the game and win numerous trophies. Maggie moved to Merkel after Sterling passed away and was a member of the Merkel Church of Christ. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed painting, pottery, and craft work.

Maggie is preceded in death by both husbands, parents, two grandsons Russ Lakey and Eric Bryson, two sisters Elizabeth Simmons and Helen Russell, and an infant brother Leon Batteas.

Maggie is survived by three daughters and sonsinlaw, Barbara Waldon and Herbert Lakey of Sylvester, Nell Waldon and Sam Bryson of Buffalo, Texas, and Arlene Waldon and Don Shivers of Abilene three brothers and sistersinlaw, Lester and Francis Batteas of Sweetwater, J.D. and Dorothy Batteas of Carrollton, and Linton and Gail Batteas of Cisco three sisters and two brothersinlaw, Alene and Donald Ebling of Plainview, Doris and Ken Gragg of Abilene, and Donnie Cozby of Abilene seven grandchildren twentythree greatgrandchildren ten greatgreatgrandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
