Lavine Coleman Jimerson

August 27, 1951 — July 15, 2025

Mrs. Lavine Coleman Jimerson passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on August 27, 1951, in Loving, New Mexico to the late Hamilton Webb Sr. and Katherine Hunter. She was blessed with a wealth of family which included 25 siblings and her father figure, the late Walter Willie Hunter Sr.

Lavine accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Hamlin East Side Church of Christ.

She joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Rogers Lee Coleman and the two were favored to become the proud parents of Deena Coleman Smith and Roy Lester Coleman.

She was a proud graduate of Hamlin High School and pursued her academic interests by attending college for several years. Lavine was a passionate advocate for education, working in the school systems in Texas and Arizona. She devoted over 20 years of her life to Hamlin ISD, where she shared her love for learning through her work with adult education classes. Her commitment to her students and belief in the power of knowledge were fundamental aspects of who she was.

Along with imparting wisdom and knowledge to her children and students over the decades, she was favored to dedicate time, encourage, support, and nurture her wonderful grandchildren

and bonus Son Mr. Jason Smith.

On June 22, 2012, she was fortunate to meet and marry her faithfully devoted husband Mr. Jimmie Jimerson who she affectionately referred to as her “Charlie Brown.” They established an amazing life together, building precious memories by traveling, attending family reunions, spending quality time frequenting restaurants, and embracing the importance of family by remaining connected with family and friends.

Lavine is preceded in death by her late husband Rogers Lee Coleman; Parents Walter Willie Hunter Sr. and Katherine Hunter; 3 brothers Glen Hunter, Christopher Hunter, and Jessie Webb.

Those left to honor her memories are her loyal loving husband Mr. Jimmie Jimerson. Her faithfully devoted children Deena Coleman Smith and Roy Coleman. Her pride and joy, grandchildren Porche Martinez whom she raised, Alexus Malone, Andre Coleman, Bishop Smith, Lyric Smith, Cierra Coleman, Valerie Fells, Alexys Killion, Anthony Killion, Ashley Malone, Jason Malone, James Malone, Daniel Castaneda, Paige Smith, and Lauren Smith; bonus sons Eric Smith (Leann), Jason Smith, and bonus daughter Melonice Castaneda (Danny); Best friend, Gail Moran. Her great grandchildren, Carlos and Vincent Martinez. Brothers Walter Hunter Jr. (Debbie), Robert Hunter, Lem Hunter, John Hunter, Rickey Webb, and Hamilton Webb Jr. Sisters, Gloria Hunter, Erma Walker, Idella Hunter, Vanessa Hunter (Willie Glover), Shirley Hunter, Rosie Webb Bonnie Webb, Marylou Webb, and Annette Webb. Lavine’s aunts, Alberta Mayes, Mary Johnson, and Erma Mayes and her uncles, Willis Perry Jr. (Betty) and William Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
