Kathryn Murphy

Kathryn Christine Murphy, 88 of Abilene passed away November 22, 2018 in Abilene. Graveside services are scheduled for 4:00 pm, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Hamlin Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home, Hamlin, Texas.
Kathryn Christine Murphy was born July 11, 1930; to her loving parents, Aubrey and Hattie Fletcher. Kathryn was raised in Hamlin and was a graduate of Hamlin High School. She married Glyn Ed Murphy. They raised two children and lived in New Mexico and Breckenridge. She was a housewife and also worked beside her husband in a vending business. They also raised cattle and horses. Kathryn enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding. She was a Catholic and enjoyed helping with the March of Dimes program.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Hattie Fletcher; her husband, Glyn Ed Murphy; her daughter, Maxine Murphy Cockrell; and two sisters, Maxine and Laverne.
She is survived by her son, Robert Louis Murphy and his wife, Desley, of Australia; and four grandchildern, Matthew, Lynzey, Mareesha, and Louis Murphy.
