June Gregory

June Carter Gregory, also known as Nanny by many of us, was born on March 17,1935 to Weldon and Leona Harbert Carter in Hamlin, Texas. On January 30, 2018 at the age of 82 she was called to her Heavenly Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Leona Carter, her husband, Don Gregory, a son, Charles Lee Gregory, daughter, Terrie Lynn Gregory Suggs. and brothers Joe and Bob Carter.
Mom was a life long resident of Hamlin and on August 6, 1952 she married the love of her life, Don Gregory, in the home they resided in for 36 years in Neinda. During that time they were blessed with 3 daughters.
Mom worked for Rockwell Brothers Lumberyard in Hamlin as a bookkeeper for 25 years then worked another 10 years for the Hamlin Independent School District before retiring.
She was a lifelong Piper fan and enjoyed attending athletic events, especially Piper football games! She loved watching all of her grandkids activities as well as making frequent trips to the casinos. She loved to play cards, dominoes (especially 42 or 84), and putting together jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Tracy Carter and husband Ricky of Hamlin and Teresa Barr and husband Greg of San Angelo. Grandchildren: Angela Payton, Pamela Suggs, Ria Wylie and husband Aaron, John Frye, Kristen Lenderman and husband Matt, Derrick Carter, Briana Wilde and husband Cory, Sydni Flowers and husband Darius. Great-grandchildren: Wesley Payton, Caleb Suggs, Emmy Reyes, Garrett Jetton, Abby and Ayden Wylie, Ainsley Lenderman and Taylor Flowers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Neinda Cemetery Association, 4523 CR 107, Hamlin, Texas 79520.
