Jimmy Woolf

June 23, 1945 — December 13, 2014

Born June 23, 1945, in Hamlin, Texas, Jimmy was the son of Lewis and Irene Crouch Woolf. He graduated from Hamlin High School in 1964, and served in the United States Air Force for two years. While in the Air Force, he married his high school sweetheart, Erma Hines, on February 16, 1965 in her parents living room in Hamlin. Jimmy worked at the Celotex plant southwest of Hamlin for 14 years, until the plant closed. He then worked as a contract pumper in the oilfields around Hamlin for over 20 years. At the time of his retirement, Jimmy was working as a driver for the Double Mountain Coach. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Hamlin, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He served as a firefighter with the Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department for 12 years, and was a mentor to many of his fellow firemen. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking things apart and forgetting to put them back together. Above all, Jimmy was a family man, who loved being able to spend time with his Children and Grandchildren.
Jimmy is rejoicing in Heaven with his parents, Lewis and Irene Woolf his grandparents, William and Stella Woolf, and his beloved brotherinlaw, Frank Willis.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Erma Woolf two sons, Jimmy Don Donnie Woolf, Jr. and wife, Joy LouAnn, of Sanger, and Jaylon Dwayne Woolf and wife, Karen Faye, of Hamlin one daughter, Debbra Annette Cantrell, and husband, Charles T., III, of Santa Fe two brothers, Bobby Woolf and wife, Shirley, of Hamlin, and Gary Woolf and wife, Denise of Mineral Wells one sister, Debbie Willis of Grand Prarie nine granddaughters, Amanda, Feliska, Kaitlin, McKenzie, Erin, Timber, Tatum, Megan, and Charla five grandsons, Neal, Jim, Eric, Anthony, and Taylor two greatgranddaughters, Annie and Cheyanne two greatgrandsons, Colton and Russell numerous nieces and nephews and an entire community of beloved friends.
Jimmys family asks that at his funeral, instead of dressing in traditional funeral attire, mourners dress like they will be attending a dance, or in Dallas Cowboys colors.
