Jimmie Lee Spalding was born on December 11, 1943 in Old Glory, Texas, the oldest of five children born to Raymond and Corine (Flowers) Spalding. Jimmie married Donna Spalding, that marriage was richly blessed with one daughter, Connie Ann (Spalding) Beasley. Jimmie departed this world on July 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by devotion, service, and steadfast faith. Jimmie's journey was marked by humility, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to the people and communities he cherished.

Jimmie spent 25 years as manager Rockwell Lumber which later became M&C Lumber, earning not just a living, but the respect and friendship of those who worked beside him. It was through these years of diligent effort that he built a reputation for dependability and warmth—a presence colleagues could always count on, whose hands were as skilled as his spirit was kind.

A calling deeper than daily labor also shaped Jimmie's life. Answering a profound sense of duty to his faith and to others, he served as a pastor in Throckmorton for 5 years. He pastored Bethel Assembly in Jacksboro for 25 years. His tenure there was only a part of a remarkable 45-year ministry. Through his preaching, wisdom, and quiet acts of compassion, Jimmie became a beacon of hope to countless souls, shepherding his congregations with humility and grace. His words brought comfort during sorrow, and his presence brought strength in times of celebration and challenge alike.

Beyond his work and ministry, Jimmie's commitment to service extended across his beloved community of Hamlin. He faithfully volunteered with the Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department, always ready when a neighbor or stranger needed help. As a proud participant in the Lions Club, he fostered camaraderie and goodwill, building bridges where others might see only differences. And as a member of the school board, Jimmie worked diligently to ensure children in his hometown were given opportunities to grow, learn, and fulfill their promise.

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Connie (Spalding) Beasley and husband James; one granddaughter, Ashley Neill and husband John Juan Compean Jr.; one grandson, Bucky Lee Kuykendall and wife Brittany; one sister, Ann (Spalding) Graham and husband Randell; six great grandchildren, Jayton Neill, Jackson Neill, Jaycee Neill, Keaton Kuykendall, Adelynn Kuykendall, and Calleigh Compean; three sisters-in-law, Gena Wilkins, Ruthie Powers, and Lavern (Powers) Arnold; two nieces; numerous cousins; and other extended family members along with a host of friends.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Earnest and Corine (Flowers) Spalding; his wife of forty-three years, Donna (Smith) Spalding; three brothers Earnest Ray Spalding, Bobby Doyle Spalding, and Paul Douglas Spalding; his mother-in-law, Leota Powers; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; and one nephew.

While he will be deeply missed by all whose paths he crossed, Jimmie's legacy shines on in his deeds, his love, and the countless lives uplifted by his presence. Each sermon delivered, every fire answered, board meeting attended, and hand extended in fellowship becomes a lasting testament to the character of a man who preferred to serve rather than be served.

Family, friends, and all who knew Jimmie are invited to remember and honor his life at a visitation on July 22, 2026, beginning at 6:00 pm at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home, 505 NW 5th St, Hamlin, TX 79520. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on July 23, 2026, at 10:00 am at New Beginnings Church, 48 SW Ave I, Hamlin, TX 79520. Burial will follow at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, 11639 County Rd 111, Hamlin, TX 79520.

Though he is gone from our sight, Jimmie Lee Spalding’s kindness, wisdom, and faith remain—woven into the memories of everyone lucky enough to walk beside him, a gentle imprint left on the heart of a community.
