Jackie Embrey

Hamlin-Jackie L Embrey, 92, passed away February 18, 2018, in Sweetwater. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.
Born November 11, 1925, in Sylvester, Jackie was the daughter of the late Marion and Grace (Wicker) Brown. She married Roy Embrey in Hamlin on June 17, 1944. Jackie was a longtime resident of Hamlin before moving to Sweetwater. She enjoyed going fishing, playing cards, Friday night singing at the Crouch's, and taking Bilbrey Bus Tours. Jackie was a member of the Avondale Baptist Church in Sweetwater.
Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter (Karla Shipp Lackey) and five sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Shipp of Sweetwater; one grandson, Kevin Shipp and wife, Amy; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
