George Werner

George Werner, 76, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on September 6, 2018. He entered this world on October 20, 1941 in Dallas, TX, born to George O. Werner and Mildred Helen (McCall) Werner. A celebration of life will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at 1:00pm in the Hamlin Memorial Cemetery officiated by Greg Clemmer.
George graduated from High School in Dallas followed by earning an Engineering Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Shortly after graduating, George moved to Hamlin where he met the love of his life, Carol Joe. George spent most of his career as the Waste Water Manager for the City of Hamlin. George served in the Army Reserves in the Army Corp of Engineers. He had a unique zest for life, love for his family and strong compassion for animals.
He is survived by his son George Werner, JR and wife Melissa of Abilene, his daughter Jennifer Richey and husband, Cory of Amarillo, grandchildren Taylor, Jackson & Alivia Werner of Abilene and Kaitlyln Richey of San Angelo & Jacob Richey of Amarillo. He is also survived by a brother Vincent Werner and wife M.K. of Plano; two sisters Gretchen Hopkins & husband Gary of Rockwall, Kristen Steege and husband Arnie of Austin and several nieces and nephews, . He is preceded in death by his wife Carol Joe Werner, his parents George & Mildred Werner and one brother, Johnny Werner.
