George Kirkland

Hamlin- George W. Kirkland, 68, passed away October 22, 2018, in Hamlin. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018, in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.
Born January 2, 1950, in Hamlin, George was the son of the late George, Sr. and Mary Loflin Kirkland. George was a man of character, never met a stranger and was willing to go the extra mile to help his community. He enjoyed playing his guitar at the nursing home and always had peppermint in his pocket as a treat. George was a member of the Hamlin Church of the Nazarene.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Linda; one sister, Alta Isbell; and one brother, Frankie Kirkland.
Survivors include one brother, Marvin; one sister, Nancy; one stepson, Stephen; one step granddaughter, Stevi; numerous nieces and nephews, Charlene, Linda, Sherry, Sarah, Margie, Christina, Brenda, Renea, Alta Marie, Ray, Marvin, Jr., Joey, Michael, Bobbie, Scott, and Christopher; and great niece, Mercedes.
