Geneva Elizabeth Forbes Ward was born September 23rd, 1948 in Roby, Texas. She passed peacefully on October 2nd in Amarillo, Texas .

She attended Sweetwater Schools and Longworth Baptist Church. In 2000, she retired from Amarillo State Center after 23 years of service.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Mike” Ward of Amarillo; Terri Gibbs of Lone Oak, Texas; Lori Martin of Richardson and Michael Armstrong of Amarillo.

Geneva is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and one brother, Jimmie Forbes, of Baird.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Forbes; her son, Shanon; two brothers; and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral home in Hamlin, Texas at 2 pm on Saturday, November 7th, 2026.

Interment will be at the McCaulley Cemetery.
