Evangelina G Morales

Evangelina Morales went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2023, in Hamlin, Texas.  Evangelina was surrounded by her loving family in her last moments. 

Evangelina was born on August 2, 1931, to Tomas and Maria I. (Salinas) Garza (raised by Amelia Salinas Garza) in Edinburg, Texas.  She was raised and went to school in Edinburg, Texas.  She moved to Hamlin with her family in the early 1950’s. 

Evangelina is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Morales, and daughter, Estella Morales.  Left to remember Evangelina are her four daughters, Norma Garcia of Abilene, Marie Benavides (D.C.) of San Antonio, Alice Meyer (Bill) of Fischer, Eva Morales of San Antonio, and sons Ramon Morales Jr. (Susan) of Houston, Rosendo Morales (Victoria) of Missouri City, Raul Morales (Annette) of Waycross, Georgia, Robert Morales (Mary) of Houston, and Ray Morales of Hamlin.  Evangelina had 21 grandkids, 27 great grandkids, 7 great-great grandkids, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Evangelina was a loving daughter, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend.  If you met her, you could not help but love her immediately.  She will always be remembered for her sweet demeanor, her amazing cooking, witty humor, her beautiful garden full of roses, her love for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Hamlin Pied Pipers, and her ability to make people feel loved and special.  She left an amazing legacy for her family. She will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and the entire community of Hamlin, Texas.
