Ella Scifres

STAMFORD- ELLA MAE "MAMAW" (TURNER) SCIFRES, 81, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Central Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home in Hamlin. Visitation will be Monday, May 16, 2016, at the funeral home chapel.
Born April 18, 1935, in Hamlin, Ella Mae was the daughter of the late Thomas "Tip" and Dump (Gill) Turner. She graduated from Hamlin High School in 1953. Ella Mae married the love of her Raymond Scifres on August 18, 1955, in Hamlin and raised their three children. She enjoy spending time tending to her flowers, gardening, watching sports and shopping. There was no greater love than the love she had for her two granddaughters.
Ella Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her beautiful daughter, Tanna Scifres Rodgers, and one brother, Ben Turner.
Survivors include, one daughter, Dooley Scifres of Stamford, one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and DeDe Scifres of Hamlin; two beautiful granddaughters, Mallory Meredith, and husband, Matt, and Kenzie Scifres; one great-granddaughter on the way Baby M; one sister, Grace Oliver; one brother, Charlie Frank Turner; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Hendrick Hospice of Abilene or your favorite charity.
