Bob Bledsoe

April 11, 1928 — February 3, 2012

Bob Frank Bledsoe left this earth on February 3, 2012 in search of the Singularity. Bob was born on April 11, 1928 to Dorsett Adair quotTedquot Bledsoe and Margaret Colvin Bledsoe. He graduated from Hamlin High School in 1945.
After graduating from Hamlin High School in 1945, he served in the Navy until the end of WWII. He then served in the Air Force and was stationed at Holloman AFB during the Korean War.
Bob39s philosophy was, if attending college is a good thing, going to five is even better, so he did working his way through each school and gaining valuable life lessons along the way. He attended OU, McMurry, Southwestern and Texas Tech before graduating from TCU after the birth of his first child.
Before he began his public relations career, he and his family lived two years on a beach in Hawaii. He is proud to say that his youngest American daughter was born in the same hospital and the same year as Barack Obama. Upon returning home to Texas, he worked for LingTemcoVought and then for Texas Instruments until his retirement. After retirement, he lived three years in Naples, Florida before returning home to Texas a second time whereupon he was immediately taken to a Willie Nelson concert.
quotBob the Dadquot was the coolest guy at the party and usually the oldest. His storytelling was legendary, mostly true and he could quote, from memory, passages from the many, many books he read. He had a passion for politics and enjoyed a good argument either in person or in a letter to the editorfrequently using the pen name, Dobbs Beleo. His many travels took him to Spain, Jordan, France, Germany, and Mexico and he delighted in learning new languages to enhance his experience.
Bob39s greatest legacy is that he is the master genealogist for the Bledsoe family worldwide and creator of a three volume family history that is currently housed in the Library of Congress.
He is survived by his two daughters Melissa Lou Bledsoe and her friend Richard Rees and Alison Ann Bledsoe Lyons and her husband John, sister, Sue Carolyn Lott, five nephews and a niece, many, many friends, and the mother of his children Linda Bledsoe Bartles.
