Billie Williams

Hamlin-Billie Williams, 85, passed away March 18, 2021, in New Braunfels.  Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2021, in Neinda Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home Funeral Home Chapel.

Born April 7, 1935, in Hitson, Billie was the daughter of the late Nelson and Vada (Plemons) Putnam.  She married the love of her life Jackie Williams on May 29, 1952.  Billie worked at Neinda Cotton Gin, Cecil Sellers Cattle Company and Anson Home Health.  Her grandchildren loved going to visit her at Cecil Sellers Cattle Company because they knew they could sneak a piece (or two!) of candy from the candy dish on her desk. The grandsons could sneak cookies from the cookie jar with dirty hands and she would just laugh.

Billie enjoyed cooking for her family, a good game of Forty-two, and was never shy about hopping on the back of the motorcycle for a ride with friends.

Billie is preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Wayne Williams, her parents, two sisters, Altha Adams and Bonnie Floyd and a brother, James Putnam.

Survivors include four children and their spouses: Mignon and Don Lawson of Buffalo Gap; Sonja and Dr. Doug Becker of New Braunfels; Guy and April Williams of Abilene; and Mickey and Lesa Williams of Waco.  She is survived by eleven grandchildren: Rebecca Dalton and husband Clark, Jason and wife Ashlyn, and Jake Lawson; Denise Becker and Brent Becker and wife Krista; Jacqueline, Chloe and Sarah Williams; and Cody and Samantha Williams and Lacy Williams and Gabi Greene.  She is survived by nine great-grandchildren:  Andrew and Caroline Dalton, James Hobbs, Elizabeth and Haynes Lawson, Emily, Cade and Evan Becker and Blakely Williams.   She is survived by a niece Latrese Lytle and nephews, Jackie Don Williams, Dale, Mike and Benny Putnam and Ricky Adams and several cousins.
