Arliene was born on April 18, 1917 in Hamlin, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Price and Eva Turner Amerson.

A very progressive woman in her time, Arliene bought a local Fire and Casualty Insurance Agency in 1939 and managed the agency until her retirement in 1973. She married John C. Bryant on May 7, 1947 in Hamlin. They worked together in the agency and in farming. They were married for 53 years.

She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, joining in Stamford, Texas in 1926 and transferring to Hamlin in 1937. She served in many capacities, including member of the administrative board, chairman of the parsonage committee, and member of the Mary Martha and Wesleyn Sunday School class. She and her husband were instrumental in the construction of the new church in Hamlin.

Arliene was a member of the Sigma Phi Sorority for 57 years. She was president several times and many meetings and Christmas parties were held in her home. She was a member of the Hamlin Cemetery Association and helped organize the perpetual care section. She was a long time member of the Jones County American Cancer Society, serving as president as well as chairman of county fund drives and special gifts. She and her husband were class parents of the Hamlin High School class of 1969 for four years, organizing all fundraisers, proms and the senior trip. Arliene was also very creative and painted china and made elaborate sequined Christmas balls.

She and her husband moved to Fort Worth in 1994 and joined the First United Methodist Church and the Twosome Sunday School class. Together they were members of the Ed Robb Evangelistic Association and the American Cut Glass Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Bryant and sister Lorene Amerson.

Survivors:
She will be greatly missed by her son, Price Bryant, her daughter, Cindy Bryant Lawrence and husband Dr. J. Walton Lawrence of Fort Worth. She will be missed by all of those that called her Mimi. Granddaughters, Catherine Anne Keith and Caroline Keith Settle and husband Christopher Arthur Settle of Dallas grandsons, James Walton Lawrence III and wife Stephanie Lewis Lawrence and Walker Watt Lawrence and fianc Kelly Greathouse of Weatherford and greatgrandchildren, Lawrence Daniel Settle and Andrew Bryant Settle of Dallas and Cameron McKie Lawrence, Cheney Elizabeth Lawrence and James Mason Lawrence of Fort Worth. In addition to her family, Arliene was cared for and loved in her last years by wonderful caregivers and friends, Mae Allen, Courtney Davis, Mary Lewis, Yolanda Parish and Amanda Wright.
