Anita Walton

August 27, 1931 — November 21, 2016

Anita was the daughter of the late Cullus and Verne Thomas. She married the love of her life Calvin *Gene* Walton on September 24, 1949, in Wewoka, OK. The couple moved from Odessa to Aspermont in 1952, then to Hamlin in 1957, where they started their business, Walton Well Service. Anita enjoyed working in her yard, needle work, arts and crafts, reading, and watching her all-time favorite show, Dancing with the Stars. She was an avid square and line dancer, and was a longtime member of the Calico Kickers Dance Club, the Texas Tornadoes, and the Buffalo Gals. Anita was also a big sports fan and supported the Hamlin Pied Pipers.
Anita is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one daughter (Gayla Rose Walton), and one sister (Pat Holden).
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Bob Hodona and Cheryl and Mark Carpenter, all of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Aaron Carpenter, and wife Stacey, and Lauren Oles and husband, Ryan, and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Samuel Carpenter.
