Anita F. Carrillo, was born in Hamlin, Texas to Dario T. and Bidala Flores on May 1, 1951. She attended Hamlin schools and graduated in 1969. She married her beloved husband, Edward Carrillo in July 1969. Anita was employed by Meals on Wheels of Abilene where she dedicated 34 years of her life to the community while tirelessly supporting to nourish those in need. Her commitment to this vital community service reflected her compassionate spirit and steadfast dedication to making a positive difference. She was well known for her love of shopping, an activity through which she found joy and fulfillment. More than anything, Anita treasured her 9 grandkids, filling their lives with love and countless cherished memories. Her family was the center of her world, and her warmth and affection showed through every interaction.
Anita F. Carrillo was preceded in death by her parents, Dario T. and Bidala (Lujan) Flores.
Anita F. Carrillo is survived by her husband, Edward Carrillo; daughter, Amanda Torres; son, Edward Carrillo Jr. and son, Marcus Carrillo; one sibling, Jesusa F. Martinez; 9 grandkids; and 11 great grandkids; numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Anita F. Carrillo, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished member of the Abilene community, passed away on April 13, 2026. She lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and warmth, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Anita’s enduring devotion to her family, unwavering compassion for others, and joyful spirit will remain in the hearts of those who loved her dearly. Her life stands as a testament to selflessness and love, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she served.
